I read that line about scripted series ending early. I'm certain that everything airing this season has been scripted, and quite probably shot by now. There's probably only some post-production at this point. Indeed, I'd be amazed if most of the summer scripted shows weren't a long way to completion now.
Surely, for the most part, this would affect production plans of fall shows? I'd also love to know the extent to which some series are now fully scripted in advance. I know that won't be the case for 22-episode network seasons, but for shorter more authored cable/streaming seasons, that may be the case now. For example, I'd be amazed if Game of Thrones isn't fully scripted ahead of production. It's multi-country, sprawling cast means that this is almost essential to work that way, to keep costs manageable.
