The thing is that I think a lot of us thought that "Live!" would be done within a couple of years after Regis' retirement--after all, he WAS the reason to watch the show (or at least the first act, when he was at his 'I'M ONLY ONE MAN!"-liest). But, of course, most of us aren't the target audience for that show, and the target audience seemed to find Kelly more than just Regis' provoker and seemed to like her a lot--enough that she became the star of the show. No matter what you think of him, Seacrest didn't get where he is by being an idiot (that would be Glenn Beck). He'll be the nice guy and play off of Kelly and every morning at 10:00 grab his phone and start checking on his other enterprises just like Dick Clark, his idol.
