I remember reading an article that mentioned that there's a library of filmed Broadway shows in NYC (Lincoln Center?), and that actors studying for a role often visit to watch original or other productions of shows they're about to appear in. It would be nice if those archived films would be available for broadcast.
I reluctantly made the decision not to see Falsettos at Lincoln Center this year because the show was filmed for Great Performances. Now, given how well it did Tony nomination-wise, I regret making that decision. Yes, who knows when Hamilton will actually air on TV. We may not be alive when that happens! Additionally, they filmed the show again to use as clips for the PBS doc "Hamilton's America" which debuted on PBS last fall.
