I want to avoid a hot take because the timing is so strange. Also Pelley stays in the organization and goes back full time to 60 Minutes instead of being tossed off the lot. If the CBS Evening News needs to be shaken up, change the Executive Producer, not the anchor. NBC was doing well with Brian Williams. When they had to send him into exile they only changed him for Lester Holt and there was no major dip in the ratings.
