Pretty sure that the captions you're seeing during games is not automatically computer-generated, but the work of the various stenocaptioners (i.e., court reporters) that are employed by the various baseball broadcast outlets. As I recall from my captioning days, the best stenocaptioners work with 99.7% accuracy, which means they get 3 words out of 1,000 wrong -- which means you'll see an error at least every couple minutes. I think I've still got a free preview going for MLB.tv -- I'll try to remember to turn on the captions today and confirm that the errors are consistent with the kind of errors that stenocaptioners make. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
