In the case of "House of Cards," Sony owns the show, not Netflix. Sooner
or later, Netflix's window to run the series has to end--and it may have
been sooner in Canada than in the U.S.

In the case of "Transparent," which Amazon owns, if Amazon is more than
happy to let their original films play in theaters and be distributed by
established distributors before they begin their streaming (something that
Netflix won't do, meaning that their infrequent theatrical releases only
run in arthouse chains like Landmark and indie theaters, because AMC and
Regal won't touch them), they should be more than happy to give a
syndication window for cable for their series. OTA? Very hard to say,
although I'm sure stations would be happy to carry the "One Day at a Time"
reboot (produced by Sony), "Fuller House" or any of the other multicams
Netflix is running (which I don't know is beyond "The Ranch" and the series
Chuck Lorre is doing for them), with the dirty words bleeped or substituted.
