It's a moral trap. If she saw nothing suspect in the years working with him
then she has nothing to say. But all these years after the fact if she says
she didn't know or didn't see anything she could be accused of being
complicit or looking the other way to keep her paycheck. Saying what she
said gets her off the hook - she didn't see anything she could act on or
complain about, but by saying she had a bad feeling about him, which she
couldn't act on, she avoids the appearance of complicity.
