Here's a thing currently recirculating... Back in 2009, FoxNews thought Roseanne wasn't very funny when she dressed as Hitler and burned "Jew cookies" in an oven
http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2009/07/31/roseanne-barr-poses-adolf-hitler-shocking-photo-spread.html Nope, not kidding, and when you read the original article in what is apparently a magazine devoted to "satirizing" Jewish culture, it doesn't get any better (worth noting the original links to the photos are no longer available on the magazine's website -- their 404 error page is an image of Jesus with the words "Just a hunch that this wasn't the page you were looking for") http://heebmagazine.com/that-oven-feelin-2/1229 Now, the post-script is what cements this as a What-The-Actual-F*ck moment... the editor of Heeb magazine defending the photo shoot. Here's where you might begin to suspect we aren't dealing with a garden-variety form of satire: "Virtually every pitch we received leading up to the publishing of our Germany Issue circled back to the Nazis and the Holocaust and almost all of them were humorous in nature... And what better way to capture this moment in popular culture than by having the original 'domestic goddess' don the Fuhrer’s famous mustache? For better or worse, hasn’t the Holocaust itself been domesticated?" I'm going to wrestle with the concept of a domesticated holocaust for a while, I think. http://heebmagazine.com/_heeb_-publisher-comes-clean-on-barr-brouhaha/4502 On Thu, Mar 29, 2018 at 10:33 PM, PGage <[email protected]> wrote: > I stopped watching Roseanne somewhere around season 3, around the time I > could no longer differentiate between her intentional humor (which can be > among the best) and her psychopathology.
