I think the point of the bit is the incongruity that is bugging you. Corden
has famous singers on the show who perform in studio conditions. McCartney
singing his songs with a fan to a car radio (the way many of us first
listened to them) is appealing. Plus, if you have heard Paul’s voice
recently, it may not reward hi fidelity as much as it once did.
