I got interrupted half-way the first time I tried to watch a couple of days ago, so I just now watched the entire clip. As an amateur audiophile, I was intrigued by Kevin's comments, although I really don't have much to say about them. Since the whole point is singing along to the radio in a car, I have no problem with the sound quality. It was actually better than in the last part of the piece when the whole band is playing in a pub. Plus, Paul sounded better in the car, compared with the pub.
(If you want to hear me bitch about sound quality and acoustics, remind me after I've been to a show at the Kennedy Center.) I've seen Paul live three times -- first, when I was a "little" girl and I went with my sister to see the Beatles in Atlanta, on their second U.S. tour, I believe. (BTW after decades of steady deterioration, the facility where the Beatles performed in DC on their first US tour has finally been restored -- within the past year; I've yet to check it out.) It was many, many years later (2008? - I'd have to look it up, the files are on an external hard drive) that I saw Paul at FedEx field. And, then more recently (August 2016) at what's now the Capitol One arena, where the hockey and basketball teams play. Couple of comments: Paul's voice deteriorated between 2008 and 2016. Also, sound quality is far superior on a football field compared with the indoor arena. So, I know what Doug means about his live experience. Way back when, e.g., when we were taking the train back from Atlanta, it would never have occurred to me that Paul -- and the Beatles -- would become permanent icons in the history of popular music, and that their music would still be just as familiar and relevant in 2018 as it was back then.
