Spenser is not an ex-con.

Ultimately, whomever they cast as Hawk is what will make or break the
reboot, although I don’t think he played a big role in Wonderland. I’ll
have to reread the novel.

It is a bit odd they chose one of the Ace Atkins novels to reboot the
franchise, when there are probably 40 or so Parker novels that were never
adapted for the screen. While I like the Atkins stories, the farther one
deviates from the original source material, the worse it is likely to be.

I do lament the Virgil Cole movie was so poorly received (my reason for it
is the horrible casting of the female costar) because I really like those
novels.
