It's definitely so. He was appointed to the federal bench by Trump about a
year ago. Don't get too excited just yet, though. At this point, all the
judge did was rule on the emergency injunction from CNN, requesting that
Acosta's credentials be given back to him while they wait for a permanent
ruling. But the fact that the injunction was granted is a very good sign for
the eventual permanent outcome.

Court ruled in Acosta's favor. Sanders responds by stating he’ll be allowed
back in, but new rules for journalists will be put in place at the White House.

Seeing people posting on the social medias that the judge was a Trump
appointee. I can’t confirm it, but oh how amusing if it were so.

Let's also assume the worst here - Fox News is supporting CNN here because
they're afraid that the next time there's a Democrat in the White House, their
correspondent will have their hard pass pulled in retaliation. This is classic
CYA.

One of the many problems with Trump’s America is his claims of the media being
the “enemy of the people” all but eliminates the ability to be legitimately
critical of the media without seeming to be agreeing with him. Acosta isn’t
good at his job, but not because of any reasons Trump might put forward. CNN
could be a true voice of the people, but instead it insists on being the voice
of a select few “personalities,” with next to no focus on journalism or
reporting. To the extent they had a hand in aiding in Trump’s election, they
are at least as flawed as FoxNews, albeit in different ways, but gone are the
days when that distinction can be clearly drawn. FoxNews isn’t so much rising
to Acosta’s defense as setting the stage for the day a Democrat is again in
power and Fox wants to send a pile of inept conspiratorial fluff to cover the
White House. But the national focus on the media as an enemy means there’s no
room for nuance and no ability to respectfully tell the folks at FoxNews that
their self-serving support is odious and unwanted.
