Tom Wolper, to moi, in part, Saturday (12/15):
Heinz Field used to bring in music acts, usually country music
performers for halftime at Steelers games. I used to feel sorry for
the acts who played to a two thirds empty stadium but then I figured
if there were still 20,000 people in the seating bowl, that's probably
10 times bigger than any crowd the bands played for.
Made me look up what Musikfest's premier venue holds... that got cut
back to ~6500 in '16. The IronPigs' stadium holds 10k for games, and
who knows how many can fit on the field... the team intentionally kept
it way down when Dylan, Nelson and Mellencamp played there in '09...
