We are now in the third day of no service.  At this point the cable box
description for the channel says "this channel has been removed" and while the
On Demand menu will still list CBS programs, when I choose one they will not
play.
Verizon has offered a one-time statement credit of $5.99, presumably to offset
the expense of adding CBS All Access during the service interruption.

Most get resolved without any service interruption. The rest rarely last
longer than a day or two. When it is over, either Verizon or Tegna will
increase your rate... sometimes they both increase your rate. Capitalism!

I just discovered that my local CBS affiliate (WUSA - DC) is owned by a company
currently haggling with Verizon over carriage renegotiation.  Starting sometime
today Tegna is withholding carriage approval while the companies negotiate.
Not having dealt with one of these situations before, I was wondering if anyone
had insight about any of the following:
How long these squabbles usually last (my vague recollection is days at the
most).
How on-demand and online access are affected (presumably anything requiring a
cable log-in would no longer be accessible, but I don't know how that affects
programming that aired prior to the start of the dispute).
This might all be moot within 24 hours, but just in case I thought I'd bend the
collective ear.
Best,David
