DoJ indicates that should the Academy go ahead with Spielberg’s proposed
changes to block Netflix from consideration, if might violate antitrust
laws. I’ve read it and reread it, and while I think Spielberg’s opinion
makes him come across as an old elitist snob, such a rule change seems far
from against the law. I’m uncertain why the DoJ would even get involved in
an award show.
