I'm the list owner. I have a group to consult with and I would not take any action without their approval. I see two activities that would raise a red flag: trolling, which means targeting an individual or posting irrelevant content to provoke the group, and posting with an intent to deceive. These red flags have never gone up. Regarding paywalls: this is a recommendation rather than a set group rule. Our purpose is to inform each other about what's going on in the world of TV. So that is what a post should do. I have a real antipathy to teases, where someone hints at the information and makes the reader click through for an explanation. That's the SOP of clickbait sites and we don't have to copy them. My preferred format is to refer to the information to be shared in the subject line. Then, in the body, the information to be shared and a link to point to the source. If the source is behind a hard paywall (like the WSJ) excerpt enough information for the reader to see what's new or important and put paywall or ($) next to the link. A soft paywall would be the NYT or the Washington Post which gives readers a limited number of articles every month and the person posting cannot know which readers are at their limits. I'd still excerpt enough information to let the reader know what's new or important and let them click through to read the whole article. The excerpts should be a paragraph or two at the most. Paywall or not I see no reason to copy whole articles here. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TVorNotTV" group.
