My interpretation of the masks during the goodbyes is that their purpose is more to send a "mask up" message to the home viewers than anything else. (Similarly, in the "SNL" promo that was airing Thursday night -- with only John Krazinski, Heidi Gardner, and M.G. Kelly on the stage -- all three were masked. I'm not sure if they've been doing that for the promos all season.)
The best thing about this "SNL" was the deadpan line "Let's get to the most famous part of 'Supermarket Sweep,' the little quiz about grocery items" (which the studio audience had no reaction to, but I laughed very hard). The most curious thing about this "SNL" was that they did a sketch about Subway and didn't refer to the scandal du jour, the lawsuit that was just filed claiming that there's no actual tuna in their tuna salad. > On Jan 31, 2021, at 10:19 AM, PGage <[email protected]> wrote: > > It’s so much that it was significantly funnier than previous installments > this season (though I did laugh a few times), but the first new SNL episode > of the calendar year did seem fresher and more innovative, and I appreciated > that.
