I have a couple of times here been gnawing on why the SNL cast wears masks for the Goodnight sequence, but not during sketches. I had a couple of rococo theories, but the explanation is simple: Under SNL Covid protocol, the only time masks can be removed in offices or on set is during Dress and Show.
The NBA started the season allowing active players to sit on the bench without masks, which is why I wondered about the SNL Goodnight masks. But last month the NBA changed its protocol to something like SNL: players can only remove masks while in the game, or on the bench if they have already played in the current half (though recommended to mask up even then). If I have been acting in a 3 min sketch with you sans masks, and your are COVID+, I am probably not getting too much net protection if you and I mask up for 1 min of good nights, but I suppose every little bit helps, and really helps to just have a simple “wear mask” rule, unless you are doing the show. But in that case, I would suggest they distance a little more, and skip the hugs, during the good nights. https://www.wsj.com/story/how-snl-gets-it-done-under-covid-74eaad93 -- Sent from Gmail Mobile -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TVorNotTV" group.
