Hottest Take: I have not yet seen “Dog”, but Cumberbatch will have to deliver the performance of a lifetime to out due Denzel as Macbeth. I am no expert, but I have seen the play, filmed and live, many many times, and he made me feel like I was seeing it for the first time. A month after seeing it I find myself thinking about it again and again.
Other Hot Take: As I mentioned elsewhere, if anyone deserves an award for the disappointing Ricardo’s, it is the amazing Nina Arianda; it is an outrage that she appears to be the only of the 4 main actors not nominated (the only other that maybe deserved it was JK).
