Netflix continues to be our go to streamer. I have particularly become a fan of their “Nordic Noir” series, but also a lot of their other non-American stuff. Plus they have filled a need in our house by providing access to a number of US and Canadian tv shows. I have 5 independent users of my Netflix account and it became so common for someone to text our group chat with: “can someone get off Netflix!” That my oldest daughter a couple of months ago paid the cost of upgrading to 4 simultaneous users.
I don’t even count Amazon against my steaming budget, as I had it long before they did any streaming. A number of their original series have been solid for me (I love Mrs. Maisel, and Goliath, The Expanse, and perhaps nothing better has ever been on TV/Streaming than Fleabag. God help me I always look forward to Jack Ryan, and really a lot of other series and original films). Plus, I very often spend the $2.99 to watch an old film I have a hankering for. You would to pry both Netflix and Amazon out of my cold dead hands. I think I am still getting Amazon and Disney for free, so can’t fairly judge how worth it they are. I do appreciate being able to watch Hamilton whenever I have an urge to listen to the soundtrack, and my kids are huge fans is the Avengers and Star Wars universes. Also, I can no longer imagine a universe in which I don't have access to Ted Lasso. I pay for Paramount + to access CBS without commercials, and all the other stuff is a nice bonus (I will still occasionally continue my long term re watch if Perry Mason, and have been known to settle in for a few Mission: Impossibles). I saved a lot of TV money moving to YoutubeTV, but if I did not need cable/Satellite/streaming to access my local channels (where I live antenna ps don’t work) I would probably just pay for streamers and do away with YoutubeTV too.
