On the local level:
Yesterday evening, one county police officer was killed and another injured 
while responding to a domestic violence call in Dad’s hometown 90 minutes’ 
drive east of here. Similarly, one suspect was killed and the other 
hospitalized, so the situation was over.
 
That didn’t stop the local stations today from breaking out the red “Breaking 
News” lower-thirds and sending multiple reporters to Courthouse Square in 
Summersville for live shots.
