The job description entails not caring if a guest ever wants to return to the show. When the series is at its best, it is holding media and politicians accountable. Bob Schieffer usually did a good but not great job of it on Face The Nation, but since he moved on none of the Sunday shows have been worth watching, because all they care about is ensuring guests want to come back.
