to partisans, along the lines of “if both sides hate me I must be doing
something right.” Wrong. Criticism comes from anyone who values competent
interviewing and analysis. Dude was promoted to fast and his perceived
potential was never reached, but the powerful people who pushed for him could
not admit they were wrong.
Anyone would look good by comparison, but I like Welker as the replacement. She
is competent but not flashy. And hopefully will not try too hard.
