Aldean and/or his people may be trying to copy current country artist Morgan
Wallen (the same one invited, then disinvited, than reinvited onto SNL), who
has managed to grow his popularity following his own racially insensitive
nonsense that had even fewer rationalizations to hide behind.
MAGA may not listen to Top 40 radio, but I think they still listen to Country
radio, which is still a big deal.
That said, he may simply be on the down side of a career in a genre whose fans
focus much less on specific artists than fans do in other genres.

My view: Aldean, whose winning streak of country number ones seems to have
dropped off lately, is trying a last ditch effort to turn his stiff (not
written by him, but by four of the usual Nashville hacks) into a hit by betting
on the volatility of streaming and TikTok and any publicity he can get off the
video to get noticed and maybe get crossover airplay (like fellow bro Luke
Combs currently is with his remake of Black lesbian Tracy Chapman's "Fast
Car"). MAGATs don't listen to Top 40 radio, Jason--ain't gonna work.
