When this extended into a second week, I was concerned that it was more
serious than had been let on. But I have no direct or indirect experience with
this kind of thing, so I didn't know if it was just the appendix or if the
combination of that and Colbert's repeated COVID infections possibly making
recovery from anything a longer process for him.
I'm glad he's back, and hopefully cognizant that he's no longer the middle-aged
man he was when he started The Colbert Report.
