It seemed to me that I had heard had Paramount was not going to do an
upfront presentation this year--and so CBS' fall lineup is out, with shows
delayed from last year by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes and mostly familiar
IP--this is according to The Wrap, all times ET, new shows ALL CAPS:
MONDAY
8:00 p.m. – The Neighborhood
8:30 p.m. - POPPA'S HOUSE--As we said last year, "Two generations of
Damon Wayans, with Damon pere as a radio talk show host and Damon fils as
his somewhat grounded son, who wants to achieve his dreams and responsibly
raise his family. Yeah, it's a multi-cam sitcom." Damon Jr. will have two
shows in the CBS lineup with "Raid the Cage" returning.
9:00 p.m. – NCIS
10:00 p.m. – NCIS: ORIGINS--Austin Stowell plays Leroy Jethro Gibbs as he
learns how to be an NCIS agent. Mark Harmon is narrating.
DICK WOLF TUESDAY
8:00 p.m. – FBI
9:00 p.m. – FBI: International
10:00 p.m. – FBI: Most Wanted
WEDNESDAY FALL
8:00-9:30 p.m. – Survivor
9:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. – THE SUMMIT--This Americanization of an Australian
series (on the Nine Network, not Paramount's Network 10) where a cash
jackpot is divided into the backpacks of a group of contestants as they are
sent to climb a mountain in New Zealand. Whoever makes it to the top gets
the money. From the French format factory Banijay.
WEDNESDAY WINTER
8:00 p.m. – The Price is Right at Night
9:00 p.m. – Raid the Cage (no indication if they're still going to tape on
the set of the Mexican version again or move the show onto the Sony lot)
10:00 p.m. – HOLLYWOOD SQUARES--Hello stars! This is only the second prime
time network airing of the evergreen game show now owned by CBS (it ran for
nine months in 1968 on its original network NBC). Sitting in the chair
where Peter Marshall and Tom Bergeron have sat (and yes, John Davidson and
Bowser) will be--Drew Barrymore. Hoo boy (no regular panelists announced).
WEDNESDAY SPRING
8:00-9:30 p.m. – Survivor
9:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. – The Amazing Race (only cycle for the year)
THURSDAY
8:00 p.m. – GEORGIE & MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE--This "Young Sheldon" spinoff
is what it says on the tin--the story of the marriage of Sheldon's friends
(played by Montana Jordan and Emily Osment). In the "Big Bang Theory"
finale, Sheldon revealed that they were divorced, although all hopes for
the series are that it will be after five seasons and 100 episodes (if that
is still a thing). From Chuck Lorre and Warners and it's a multi-cam
("Young Sheldon" was one-camera, no laugh track, even if some detractors on
social media claimed that it did have a laugh track).
8:30 p.m. – Ghosts
9:00 p.m. – MATLOCK--As we said last year, "Just replace Andy Griffith with
Kathy Bates and you get the idea."
10:00 p.m. – Elsbeth
FRIDAY FALL
8:00 p.m. – S.W.A.T.
9:00 p.m. – Fire Country
10:00 p.m. – Blue Bloods (the end--sorry Grandma)
FRIDAY SPRING
8:00 p.m. – NCIS: Sydney
9:00 p.m. – Fire Country
10:00 p.m. – S.W.A.T.
SATURDAY:
8-10 - Reruns
10 p.m. - 48 Hours
SUNDAY
7:00 p.m. – 60 Minutes
8:00 p.m. – Tracker (how many more jokes will Colbert make about this show?)
9:00 p.m. – The Equalizer
10:00 p.m. – WATSON--as in Sherlock Holmes' buddy. The producers of
"Elementary," the CBS update of Sherlock Holmes, present Watson (played by
Morris Chestnut) as a contemporary doctor who meets up with Moriarity, who
had killed Holmes a year before the beginning of the series, and you get
the idea.
And we're off and running. Do you have it in you, Brad?
