When the onboard battery dies, the unit ID will become corrupted in the event of power loss. I recently had the same thing happen to me. Unfortunately the only options are sending it to ATS http://www.atselectronics.com/ for servicing , or getting a new 4DTV receiver. I'm not sure of the price for the ATS service as I took the oportunity to upgrade from a 920 to a 922. Once the unit ID is corrupted the digital side of the receiver is of no use, sorry to say.
