Has anyone read the original message and understood it? A few have and you know who you are.
Its not his VCRS board that the battery died in the 4DTV IRD not his VCRS board. And you cannot just up and change the battery in any of those boards VC2, VC2+, VCRS, 4DTV. You go yanking out the battery in any of them you will kill them just like his 4DTV is now toast. Sure you can do it but either you have to do it while the unit is powered up which might be easy in the 4DTV bay taking the cover off, then unsolder the battery and solder in a new one and hope you don't short anything out. But try to do that with one of the VC boards! Ain't gonna happen. What you need to do with any of the 4 I mentioned is to hope yours isn't old enough to have a dead one in it and solder in a new battery to other points on the board then unsolder the old one, then unsolder another new one where the old one was, once that is done you can remove the one you soldered to other points. If any of those units looses power for a few seconds they loose there unit ID and that's it game over. jack peacock wrote: > Just to put a new battery in it/or was the battery > dead? $185 is a lot for a battery. What did they do? > --- Teddy Banks <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > I had a 920 repaired in Feb this year, by ATS, > > $185.00 > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Guy Ogden" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > To: <[email protected]> > > Sent: Saturday, June 11, 2005 5:38 AM > > Subject: Re: [TVRO] Bad ID > > > > > > Thanks.
