Liftoff is scheduled for 4:27 p.m. EDT. with a window extending 2 hours, 50 minutes to 7:17 p.m. EDT. Spacecraft Separation happens about 109 minutes (1 hour 48 mins) after liftoff. Astra 1KR is a Lockheed Martin A2100AX model all Ku-band satellite that will have 32 active transponders for the first five years then 28 thereafter. Astra 1KR will provide DTH services for Europe including HDTV channels across Europe, also will serve as backup capacity and a replacement for Astra 1B and Astra 1C. Astra 1KR will be operating from 19.2 degrees East.
