***The following is what every buyer of a 4DTV receiver should know before purchasing:
Check the Systems Option Screen; Options 6, 5. Line A, Digital Unit ID should start out 00-12F0 thru 00-12F5 & Line B, Receiver # should start out 000-03177 thru 000-03180. If it doesn't, then chances are the Unit ID is corrupt and will not receive digital channels. The unit receiver number, Options 6, 5, Line B should also match the U/A number on the back of the receiver. If you buy from another seller, ask questions first, because many have a As-Is, No Return Policy! Some of these DSR 920 units being sold on ebay have dead batteries and as a result will not receive digital channels or store memory once unplugged for 15 minutes. Another way of checking the receiver is to check the time display & satellite & channel number. If time is at 12:00 and when On/Off button is pressed on front panel and it shows only a 1, then that indicates no memory is stored, usually caused by a dead battery. Hope this helps. Hello...what questions should I ask of a 4DTV 922 owner selling his receiver? (to make sure it works when it arrives). Also, is there any difference between the General Instrument 922 vs the Motorola 922? Which is preferred? Can I determine that age of the receiver from any external manufacturers inscriptions? Thanks to all of those here who have been so kind and helpful in this forum. i appreciate it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
