Same here . I would never touch any antenna from Radio Shack !

  ican't believe the number of responses defending RS gear.  I am only 
referring to their antenna products and some of them are decent, depending who 
the actual manufacturer is but I'd rather know what I am buying by choosing an 
antenna product from the guys who actually design them.

    Yes - and I've had a high end Sony computer with failed hard drives after a 
    year, and a Kodak digital camera that inexplicably died (within warranty, 
thank 
    goodness).
    Forty years of buying from Radio Shack, including an $8000 TRS-80 Model II 
    (which still works, by the way (not that I use it), has demonstrated to me 
that 
    their merchandise is as good as anyone else's.
