Thursday afternoon (12-20)  a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket 
(7925 configuration) with  NAVSTAR GPS 2R-18 spacecraft is scheduled to 
launch from pad 17A. Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

Launch is scheduled at 2:59 p.m. EDT.  with a window extending to 3:13 
p.m. EST.

Satellite seperation is scheduled for 68 minutes after launch.

GPS 2R-18 (GPS 2R-M5) is the fifth of eight in the new "Modernized" 
version of the 2R series of satellites that feature many improvements 
for greater accuracy, and tougher resistance to interference and 
enhanced performance for users around the world.

GPS 2R-18 will go into the Plane C, Slot 1 position of the constellation 
to take the place of GPS 2A-24. That satellite then moves into another 
role replacing the ailing GPS 2A-20 satellite, which was launched in May 
1993.

Test Starts at 2:30 p.m. EST.
