I don't believe this will get the MPG DVB - no. I am not 100 percent sure, but I don't think it will. You will need a cheap FTA receiver. They are available on ebay for less than 100.00 in some cases. Doesn't matter how new it is unless you are planning on modifying it to obtain illegal dishnet pirate stuff. Other than that, they will work just fine with the factory software in them. The only thing you may have to do is add newer satellites to the list and then scan them. Most are easily usable for any FTA either KU or C band.
