Hi Becoming a network security professional is not an over night job. First you should be proficient in TCP/IP network technologies: IPv4: addressing, routing, bridging, switching etc and TCPconcepts.. As far as operating system knowledge is concerned, you should know how networking is implemented in Linux, Windows and you should know various network commands on those OS. After network basics, be familiarized with network security systems IPS/ IDS, FW, VPN etc (these are advanced networking concepts). Then you go for a CCNA certification. Then you think about becoming a network security professional (for this, you should have had at least 2/3 yrs in networking as network admin or system admin, preferrably). To become a network security professional, you should be a Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH). Adept technologies of Hyderabad provides you the training. You enquire about that. Refer to: http://www.adeptechno.com/ After training, you should write an certification exam and get certified by EC-Counsel. Find more details at: http://www.eccouncil.org/ While doing CEH course, you will find that 2/3 yrs of networking experience is a must. After getting CEH certified, you should appear for ECSA certification. This is again from EC-Council. I guess Adept gives training for this too. Then EC-Counsil authorises you as a Licensed Penetration Tester (LPT), then only security industry accepts you as a network security professional. This much is there to become a security professional. Hope this helps those aspiring security professionals. BTW, how is network security market..! Any hot openings in Hyd?
