Hi All:
I was using mysql 4.1.7 till now.
it was absolutely fine.
but when i feel a requirement of some
new features like triggers & procedures,
i installed mysql 5.0 by downloading its source code
Manually installed.
it worked fine just after the installation ,
but as i exit & try to re start mysql then it went for a toss.
the error is following whenever i tryed to type mysql on shell.
"Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)"
what can be this Problem?
if i want to remove now all prev mySQL versions & goes for a fresh 5.0
installation then how to remove mysql 50 now .
i tried from add/remove package but its also giving errors.
can somebody help me on this?
