Hi,
I think you have installed Mysql 5.0 from the RPMS provided by mysql site,
so just check your my.cnf and make mysql demon listen on '/tmp/mysql.sock'
as the other client utilities provided by stock rpms at mysql site expect
mysql.sock to be in tmp directory instead of /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock where
it default is provided in default redhat or Fedora distribution.
Regards...
.::abrar::.
