Hi, This is my first post. Our organisation decided to introduce Linux desktops on an experimental basis. Depending on how comfortable employees are in using these for normal business activities, we will further migrate to Linux. We procured about 6 distros to evaluate on smooth installation and working on local network. Simply MEPIS 6.5 found to be the best. It recognised wireless LANs on Laptops, Network neighbourhood works well.
1)But sound is not working either on my Laptop or our Desktops. 2) My USB mouse gets disconnected when two or three windows are open and we could not find a way to activate it excepting by rebooting. Plug-out/plug-in is not reactivating any mouse I tried.
