My suggestion is to buy the hard disk model with the specification as stated below. . Seagate Barracuda . 7200.10 family . 320 GB capacity . S/N 5QF53R7T . ST3320620AS . P/N 9BJ14G-305 . Firmware 3.AAE You buy this particular model and not ST3320820AS ! This model has 16MB cache with NCQ (Native Command Queuing). Drive cache is more important that native storage capacity. I have run tests on this disk and it gives 2GBps (cached) and 78.1 MBps (sustained throughput). This costs about INR 3,600 + 4% VAT. This is a remarkable SATA 2 NCQ disk and I am very impressed by its through put capabilities. Infact, I plan to use this disk in the weav appliance that I am currently designing. There is a strange situation in the Indian reseller market when it comes to SATA disks. There is a large number of customer complaints of not being able to boot or unusual paper cutting like sound in these disks. So my suggestion to you is to pickup these two items as well . SATA II (3 GBps) compliant connector cable . SATA II compliant power cable Pick up three sets of these and you can avoid the cheap stuff that is currently peddled in the reseller market. thanks Saifi.
