I once installed Freespire 1.0 in my P3 1GHz 192 megs machine in about 10 minutes. The installer claimed it to be around 10 minutes and I timed it out of curiosity. I later installed it as a virtual machine in the lab in office with abut 700megs if ram in about 6 minutes.
Just for info, Freespire is the free of cost edition of Linspire. Based on Ubuntu Linux, it uses KDE as its default desktop. I think it also gave out of the box for mp3 formats. I chucked it in favor of Ubuntu as it is too heavy for the eyes. Perhaps others may like it. -- Navneet Sreeraman
