Warning: The fascination of the oldies like prince of persia 2d, and prehistorik 2 still stays with me. And I never understood why first person shooters click! So my opinion would be completely off the mark.
What I see in open source games is that usually they are clones of famous games, usually brought out by developers who are also the fans of the originals who seem to replicate the originals faithfully. What really would make a difference is to come up with the fresh ones. I know it is quite easy to say to come up with fresh ideas, but this is the only way I think open source games to impress the gamers. Ragu
