A regular USB cable with the same type connectors should do it.  Do 
*not* know the cosequence though, never tried it.

The USB port on the comp. supplies power to the devices on the USB bus.  
Not sure what will happen if you connect it to an USB port on another 
comp. directly.  You may want to isolate the computer USB ports from 
each other thru USB modems - just a thought.

Please share what kind of application you have in mind with such a 
setup - networking like ppp over a serial link?  

It is hard to suggest any thing without understanding what it is you are 
trying to achieve with such a connection.

Depends on your application.  If it is just a dumb terminal that 
connects over the serial/USB link then no issues.
