Ouch.  Crashes the anti-virus application also?  I have not used windows 
a/v for ages.  I recall, a/v packages had option for DOS boot disk for 
such cases.  Do they have option for making bootable CDs now?

Aah, this explains why I did not get any warning nor was my system 
compromised.  I am using Ubuntu desktop :)

I assumed that everyone here is using an open source desktop.
Seriously though, it is difficult to promote/advocate open source unless 
we use it ourselves.
