Thanks Saifi. And sorry for the delay. I guess Zubin has eloquently put what has all to be said. Few quick thoughts though.
- What we are/will see is a drop in the growth rates - which means there is slowdown in growth but there will be growth nevertheless. A 5-6% growth compared to last years ~9% still means that we have a growth rate of ~6% over the last years which is still growth! - However what we are seeing down is companies are trimming down on their non-essential expenses - the flab as I would put it. They will also see how/where they can get away with downsizing without affecting their profit prospects. - Thats not to tell that there will no more be recruitments - there always will be -thats the only way a company can start infusing new blood and energy into the organization. But you will see that the maddening rush for getting freshers will stop - companies are becoming much much more selective. So as long as one is good, its a given the candidate need not worry about getting a job. - My suggestion would be to concentrate on your overall skillset: - Communication - Coding - CS fundamentals.
