Hi, I'm Caroline from Australia, and coming back to tablet weaving after a long
absence. I learned to weave in the 80s, self taught as I didn't know any other
weavers, and my first loom was a tablet loom set up on a backstrap - it still
is, and I still have my original tablets, made from playing cards.
I'm in the process of weaving my first band in 25 years, and trying to remember
old skills and its been nice re-acquainting myself with the books I borrowed
from my then local library. The best part is I now own those books, thanks to
the internet, so I don't have to give them back, lol! I look forward to
learning such a lot from everyone. In all this time I have only ever met one
other person who knows what tablet weaving is, so this is a bit like coming
home.
