When I'm pricing tablet weaving, I know I underprice, but I seem to make a few sales (and a LOT of interest, until even those prices put them off) I charge 25p per tablet per foot for wool/coarse threads, and 40p per tablet per foot for finer threads. I then add £10 for "setup costs". It sounds a tiny amount, but consider this: 5 foot of silk weave, with 22 tablets.. this would cost 22x40p = £8.80 per foot = £44 plus £10 setup = £54 total. It's a crap rate of pay per hour, but more than covers material costs, and is at the upper end of what people will pay. Wool thread is coarser, it takes less time to weave a foot and the materials are usually cheaper to buy, therefore the same piece of weave in wool would be 22x25p = £5.50 per foot = £27.50 plus £10 setup = £37.50 for a few hours less work. I make for roleplaying groups, who think nothing of paying £100s for fancy clothing, but won't pay for weave in the same fashion. However I am also lucky in that I can use commercial threads, and not look at authentically dyed wools etc. That would add a lot to the cost. Hope that helps. Sarah
