Hi folks

I am having difficulty finding a reasonable online resource that compares
different yarn or thread weights.

For example, I use crochet cotton #5, #3 or #8. How do they compare
(thickness wise) with silk 60/2 or perhaps 2 ply knitting wool? Ok, this
perhaps is a silly example, 2 ply is thickest, followed by 3,5 and 8. I'm
assuming the silk is by far the finest, but is it twice as fine as #8?

Has anyone found/got a simple comparison chart?

Look forward to hearing from anyone :)

Sarah

PS: For any tablet weavers out there, I've got a brilliant little method
(can't be used with continuous warp though) for getting rid of twist buildup
- cheap and easy!

PPS: sorry for those who are also on the braids & bands list as I am sending
this there too!
