When you say "save in a cookie" are you doing this using javascript or a server side language like php or asp?
The typeahead is just a basic input type=text element so you should just be able to load the value="GET_FROM_COOKIE" if you're using something server side. otherwise when the page loads use jquery to set the value from the cookie.
