I suspect this has something to do with the fact that Twitter Search has essentially stopped parsing shortened URLs, as of Sept. 21 (http:// groups.google.com/group/twitter-development-talk/browse_thread/thread/ 9ab5fd225a6250e1#).
So, when Twitter searches for your counturl, it can find only those tweets in which the counturl occurs exactly in the body of the tweet itself, as opposed to being the referent of a shortened URL in the tweet body, which is what it should do to be relevant. Hopefully Twitter will fix this issue. -- Twitter developer documentation and resources: http://dev.twitter.com/doc API updates via Twitter: http://twitter.com/twitterapi Issues/Enhancements Tracker: http://code.google.com/p/twitter-api/issues/list Change your membership to this group: http://groups.google.com/group/twitter-development-talk
