Absolutely, many (or most) of us are using versions of Delphi that 
Borland effectively abandoned a long time ago, since it has a policy of 
not maintaining old versions.  Yet they still work. 

The only real danger on the horizon is Windows Vista, which might break 
some APIs in the RTL.  Doubtless someone will fix the RTL (as variants 
and common controls have been in the past for W2K and XP), but 
developers may be stuck on XP if the GUI is not updated.  But XP 
probably has a good 10 years life left, so no problem for a while.
