Which will only be possible on a 10GB LAN which is very rare, you are confusing bytes per second with bits per second. The best speed on a standard 1GB LAN is about 100 Mbyte/sec. A larger TCP buffer size does improve slow as well as maximum speeds, due to less delay waiting for ACKs.
